David Ball, D.O., MPH, MBA, FACEP, FAAEM

Dr. Ball graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his Master of Public Health from Dartmouth Medical School and received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his Internship and Residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Dr. Ball also received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Dr. Ball is the Ambulatory Chief Medical Officer for BayCare System and serves as the chair of the system's Emergency Department Clinical Services Committee.

Lawrence Mendiola, D.O., FAAEM

Dr. Mendiola graduated from the University of Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He earned his Masters of Science from the University of North Texas and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of South Florida/Tampa General Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. Dr. Mendiola currently serves on various committees within the hospital, including Peer Review, Credentials, & ED Clinical Pathways. He also leads our quarterly Journal Club.

Dr. Christian Imensek earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University before receiving his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Louisiana State University’s Earl K. Long/Baton Rouge General Emergency Medicine Residency Program in 2002. Following residency, he relocated to Florida and began practicing emergency medicine.

His career in Florida has included positions at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Edward White Hospital, Largo Medical Center, and Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where he practiced for approximately 15 years. Dr. Imensek joined Bayside Emergency Physicians, P.A. in April 2018 and has since provided emergency medical care at St. Anthony’s Hospital.

Catherine Wendell, M.D.

Dr. Wendell graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1996. She received her Medical Degree from the University of South Florida, College of Medicine, Tampa, FL in June 2001 and completed her residency at the University of Chicago. Dr. Wendell manages physician scheduling and has been a part of our group for over 20 years.

Raveen Shenoi, M.D.

Dr. Raveen Shenoi is a double-certified physician in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and completed medical school in 2010. As a full-time nocturnist, Dr. Shenoi is dedicated to providing care during critical overnight hours. In addition to his clinical work, he is the co-founder of SynchronyMD, a telehealth startup committed to expanding access to high-quality inpatient care in rural communities through innovative technology and physician support.

Matthew Nelson, D.O.

Dr. Nelson is an emergency medicine physician and Medical Director for St. Anthony’s Triathlon and BayCare’s FanCare program. He serves as Director of Point-of-Care Ultrasound for the St. Anthony’s Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program, Chair of the Pinellas County Prehospital Medical Control Board, and Medical Director for the Eckerd College Emergency Response Team.

A former paramedic in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Nelson earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his emergency medicine residency at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan.

Dr. Torto graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Health Science degree. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Medicine Degree from Howard University and his Emergency Medicine residency was completed at Wright State University in 2016. Dr. Torto has served on the Credentialing Committee, and the Medical Executive Committee as the Hospital Based Department Chair.

Emily Wolfe, M.D.

Dr. Wolfe earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Medicine from Robert Wood Johnson University in New Jersey. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Wake Forest University in 2016 and has been working with BEP since then. She is currently the ED Section Chief, and serves on the Credentials Committee and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
